Our History
Angel Creek Preschool began as a Mother's Morning Out ministry for St. Ann's Parish in the late 1980s. The MMO program was led by a group of dedicated mothers under the leadership of Linda Beste. The school was originally furnished with homemade furniture, plastic chairs and a few donated toys.
In the fall of 1990, Pam Newby became the first director and successfully transitioned the program into a 5-day licensed preschool. The program was named Early Childhood Discovery Center (ECDC). Over the years the ECDC program became a highly sought after preschool by families in the local and surrounding communities. Pam Newby built and held that reputation as a top tier preschool for 23 years. She retired in 2012.
In March 2013, the Dallas Diocese requested that each childcare program and preschool within the Dallas Diocese become an independent entity from each respective parish. With continued growth and success, in July of 2013, the 23 year old ECDC program became a 501c non-profit organization. The school is now known as Angel Creek Preschool.
Karen Ruffner became the Director from 2012-2022. In 2022, Yvette Cudal was hired as the Director.
It is the mission of Angel Creek Preschool to provide a caring and safe atmosphere where children take their next steps in education and Catholic faith. By offering encouragement and many opportunities for success, our hope is that each child will establish a positive belief of themselves and of their active place in God's world.
